How Difficult is the Claims Process?

It can be very easy. We will ask you to file a claim, we will then meet the adjuster, handle all of the paperwork and then install a new roof on your home. The only thing you have to do is pick the color! It's that easy when you work with AFFORDABLE ROOFMASTERS.

Deposit?

Is there a deposit before the work begins? - The answer is NO. At AFFORDABLE ROOFMASTERS we don't require any money until you are satisfied with a completed job.

What if I just keep the money?

The check you received is partial payment. The insurance company typically holds back depreciation (about 40% of the total claim). This cannot be recovered until the roof is replaced and the final invoice is sent to the insurance company by the contractor. Your roof is not covered anymore if it gets hit by lightning or a tree falls on it. You will have to pay for the roof yourself when it fails in a few years.

Should I Get Three Estimates?

The insurance representative may ask you to get three estimates. You do not have to do this. Hire a contractor that you are comfortable with and that you can trust. The insurance company will prepare an ESTIMATE for your damage. This is an estimate only and may need to be negotiated by your contractor with the insurance company. There may be collateral damage which the adjuster missed, ie: damaged gutters, paint, air conditioner fins etc. If you receive an estimate from a contractor which is substantially less than the insurance estimate, there is probably a reason why, ie: improperly trained crew, lack of insurance, substandard materials etc.

Will my insurance get cancelled if I file a wind or hail claim?

Your insurance cannot be cancelled because of a weather related claim. This is considered a "no fault claim". An example of an "at fault claim" would be driving your car through the garage door.

What is my deductible?

Your deductible is the portion of your claim that is not covered by your insurance company. All you are responsible to pay is your deductible. Thatís the most you should pay. If you have a large deductible, we will work with you to get the project completed at a price you can afford.
